Delete Your Account

This page explains how to request permanent deletion of your SmartSpend account and the data associated with it.

1. Open SmartSpend and sign in to the account you want to delete.
2. Tap the Profile tab in the bottom navigation.
3. Open Settings and scroll to Data Management.
4. Tap Delete Account (Reset Everything).
5. Complete the 3-step confirmation, including typing RESET to confirm.
6. Your data is erased immediately and you are signed out. The action cannot be undone.

Send a deletion request from your registered email address to:

Use the subject line “Account Deletion Request” and include the email address linked to your SmartSpend account. We verify the request comes from the registered address and complete the deletion within 30 days, usually within 1–2 business days.

Deleting your account permanently removes:

• Your account and sign-in credentials
• Profile details and app preferences/settings
• Expenses, income records, and starting balance
• Budgets, goals, subscriptions, and recurring items
• AI insights, weekly/monthly reports, and AI usage history
• Receipt scans and scan history
• Notifications, notification settings, and push subscriptions
• Feedback and support messages linked to your account
• Locally cached data on your device

• Security and abuse-prevention logs (e.g. sign-in and error logs) — retained for up to 30 days, then automatically purged.
• Encrypted infrastructure backups — rotated out within 30 days; deleted records are not restored to the live app.
• Records we are legally required to keep (such as tax or transaction records where applicable) — kept only for the period required by law, then deleted.

Retained records are never used for marketing or profiling, and no personal financial entries are kept after deletion completes.
